This guide provides general instructions and recognises that there may be variations between different models.
To replace electrical components, the robot lawn mower must be opened and the chassis separated from the top cover. The design of the mower ensures easy work and follows a step-by-step logic in the process. Take your time when replacing parts on your mower for the first time. All parts for your robot lawn mower can be found on our website https://schou.com.
A few tips:
- Photographing each step of the process, including all involved parts, can help when reversing the steps for reassembly or when ordering spare parts.
- Do not overtighten the screws. The unit’s parts are made of plastic, and the threads can be easily damaged if you use too much force or torque on your power tools (we recommend a cordless drill/screwdriver set to a torque of 4).
- Be patient when loosening snap locks and clips, and ensure the tool you choose fits well.
- Always replace one part at a time.
- Turn off the robot lawn mower and disconnect the battery. (See here for details on replacement)
2. Remove the outer shell of the robot
- Place the robot on a stable surface
- Hold the mower near the height adjustment knob with one hand. With the other hand, lift the floating lid first from the front and then the back until it pops out of its rubber holders
-
Ensure the rubber plugs are in place before reassembling the mower cover
3. Disassembly of the cutting motor unit
- Remove the cutting disc and protective shield
-
Turn the height adjustment lock counterclockwise and lift it up. This will allow you to exceed the cutting height of 60 mm and disconnect the floating mechanism from the cutting unit
- Turn the height adjustment knob on top of the machine to max until the block reaches the position shown in the picture
-
Use a large flat screwdriver to loosen the snap lock and remove the cutting height unit
- The top cover is attached to the chassis with four screws from the bottom and twelve screws from the top. Start by removing the four screws at the bottom
- After removing the screws, separate the top cover from the chassis. Disconnect the cable plug to remove the cover completely
When reassembling the lawn mower, ensure all parts are correctly seated. Check that gaskets are undamaged to ensure waterproofing. Incorrect assembly can shorten the mower’s lifespan due to moisture damage and corrosion of electrical components
