Replacement of Components for Adano RM5 / Smart 365 500m² / Grouw City 300m² / Garden 500m²

This guide provides general instructions and recognises that there may be variations between different models.

To replace electrical components, the robotic lawn mower must be opened and the chassis separated from the top cover. The design of the mower ensures easy work and follows a step-by-step logic in the process. Take your time when replacing parts on your mower for the first time. All parts for your robotic lawn mower can be found on our website https://schou.com.

A few tips:

  • Photographing each step of the process, including all involved parts, can help when reversing the steps for reassembly or when ordering spare parts.
  • Do not overtighten the screws. The unit’s parts are made of plastic, and the threads can be easily damaged if you use too much force or torque on your power tools (we recommend a cordless drill/screwdriver set to a torque of 4).
  • Be patient when loosening snap locks and clips, and ensure the tool you choose fits well.
  • Always replace one part at a time.

  1. Turn off the mower

    2. Remove the robot’s top cover.

  • Place the robot on a stable surface and remove the 2 screws as shown in the picture.

  • Gently lift the decoration module from the top cover to release it from the snap locks.

3.  Dismantling the cutting motor unit.

  • Remove the cutting disc and protective shields

  • Turn the height adjustment knob stop block approximately 30 degrees counterclockwise and lift it up. This will allow exceeding the cutting height of 55mm and disconnect the floating mechanism from the cutting unit.

  • Turn the height adjustment knob to max until the block reaches the position shown in the picture.

  • Use a flat screwdriver to loosen the snap lock and remove the cutting height unit.

  • The top cover is attached to the chassis with two screws from the bottom and six screws from the top. Start by removing the two screws at the bottom.

  • After removing the screws, separate the top cover from the chassis.

When reassembling the mower, all parts must fit correctly and tightly. Check that seals are undamaged to ensure waterproofing. Incorrect assembly can shorten the mower’s lifespan due to moisture damage and oxidation of electrical components.

Battery Replacement

  • To replace the battery, remove the screw from the battery holder to release the battery. Replace with the new battery and reassemble.
