Maintaining your furniture
Furniture made from non-wood and polyrattan requires only minimal care. To keep it looking nice, simply wipe it down with a soft cloth, water, and a little mild soap. This means you don’t need to sand, oil, or paint it.
Thanks to their robust construction, this furniture can easily withstand both rain and sun. The UV protection makes them less vulnerable to the sun’s rays, so they last longer than many other materials.
NB: Avoid placing glass objects directly on non-wood surfaces in strong sunlight. They can act as magnifying glasses and leave scorch marks. Always use coasters or placemats to protect the surface.
- Storage and covers
Although the furniture is designed to be left outside all year round, it is recommended to store it in a dry place or under cover during the winter months to further extend its lifespan.
- Tips for choosing a cover:
- Choose a cover that is slightly larger than the furniture, so there is room for air circulation and less risk of condensation.
- Covers with ventilation holes are ideal, as they help keep the furniture dry.
- Some covers have elastic cords or drawstring closures, so they can be fitted closely around the furniture.
- UV-resistant covers protect both the furniture and upholstery from the sun’s fading effect.
