Patio Heater - Self-Help (Troubleshooting)

Storage

Always close the regulator on the gas cylinder after use or in case of operational disturbances.
Remove the regulator from the gas cylinder.
The patio heater may only be stored indoors if the gas cylinder is disconnected and removed from the patio heater. Store the patio heater in a dry place, sheltered from wind and precipitation.
Never store gas cylinders below ground level or in places without sufficient ventilation.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Do not clean the patio heater with flammable, abrasive, or rust-inducing cleaning agents.
Powder-coated surfaces should be wiped with a soft, damp cloth.
Regularly brush the burner head with a clean, soft brush.
Optionally purchase and use a cover for the patio heater to protect it from weather, wind, and dust.

Special note on stainless steel
Despite the name, the most common types of stainless steel can rust if the environment prevents the formation of chromium oxide.
This causes the iron in the alloy to start rusting, and once rust has started, it is difficult to stop.
This is especially the case if there is salt in the air, e.g., near coasts.
Stainless steel surfaces are cleaned with a damp coarse kitchen sponge and a little dishwashing detergent.
Make sure to polish the steel in the direction of the grain, not in circular motions or alternating directions.

Then wipe the surfaces with a lint-free cloth wrung out in lukewarm water, so they dry faster without streaks. Optionally, wipe afterwards with a cloth dipped in paraffin oil or WD40 to give the stainless steel a protective coating.

Cleaning the Gas Supply Pipe

If the patio heater is not used for an extended period, dust, dirt, and insects can block the gas supply pipe and the openings at the pilot flame and burner.
If this happens, you should remove the burner head and gas supply pipe.
Hold the control button down and blow through the pipe using compressed air to clean it.
Reassemble the parts.
Connect the gas cylinder and open the regulator.
Turn the control knob to the dot after the PILOT position and hold it down for 3-4 minutes before attempting to light the patio heater.
