Cleaning Maintenance and Winter Storage - Grouw S500 APP Control

Cleaning, maintenance and winter storage.

Preparation:

  • Turn off the main switch: Before starting any cleaning or maintenance, make sure the main switch is in the OFF position to avoid accidental damage.

Cleaning:

  • Avoid water: The robotic lawnmower must not be rinsed or cleaned with water as this can damage the electronics. Instead, use a damp cloth to wipe the casing.
  • Clean charging plug and charging contacts: Use a brush to remove dirt and deposits from the charging plug and charging contacts on the charging station. If necessary, you can use a piece of fine-grain sandpaper to remove deposits.

Maintenance of blades and wheels:

  • Clean the blade disc and blades: Turn the robotic lawnmower upside down. Use a soft brush or a damp cloth, possibly with a mild detergent, to clean the blade disc and blades. Check that the blade disc can rotate freely.
  • Remove grass and mud from the wheels: Ensure the wheels are free from cut grass and soil so they can move freely.

Replacement of parts:

  • Check for damaged parts: If there are damaged, worn or defective parts, they must be replaced with corresponding original parts.
  • Replacement of blades: The blades last about three months if they do not hit obstacles. Always replace all three blades at the same time to ensure the blade disc is balanced. Check that the blades can move freely around their screws.

Battery maintenance:

  • Lithium-ion battery: The robotic lawnmower is equipped with a maintenance-free lithium-ion battery. If the mower is not used for a long period, the battery should be fully charged every three months.

Winter storage:

  • Storage: When the season is over, and before frost weather occurs, the robotic lawnmower, charging station and power supply must be brought indoors for winter storage. Store the parts in a dry and frost-free place.
  • Cleaning before storage: Clean the robotic lawnmower as described above.
  • Manual charging: Charge the battery manually to avoid charging errors. Set the main switch to the OFF position. See the manual regarding manual charging.

Remember to manually charge the battery at least every three months while the robotic lawnmower is in storage.

  • Boundary wire: The boundary wire can remain in the garden, but its connections should be protected with insulating tape, waterproof grease or similar to prevent corrosion.
