Insects in Charging Station - Adano RM5 500m2 / SMART 365 500m2

Introduction

Insects can cause problems in the robotic lawn mower's charging station by building nests or leaving debris. Follow these steps to inspect, clean, and prevent insect-related issues.

 

Step 1: Safety First

  • Turn off the robotic lawn mower and unplug it from the charging station, so there is no power connected.

Step 2: Inspect the Charging Station

  • Carefully open the charging station (To open the charging tower, you will find two clips, one on each side. Press them and then lift the lid up) and check for:
  • Signs of insects, such as nests or dead insects.
  • Debris blocking connections or ventilation.
  • Visible damage to electrical components.

Step 3: Clean the Station

  • Clean the charging station to remove debris and insects.
  • Wipe the charging contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth.

  • Avoid using water or liquid cleaners.

Step 4: Assess Damage

  • Check if any electrical contacts are corroded, damaged, or burnt.
  • If there is visible damage to electrical components or burnt plugs, they should be replaced.

  • Place the charging station in a shaded area away from insect-prone locations.
  • Consider using insecticides in the area around the charging tower.
